Wimbledon home extensions

Part C: Home extension wins in Wimbledon

This is the final instalment of our Wimbledon series, which celebrates the sought-after area that makes headlines all around the world for two weeks every year thanks to the oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament in the world.

In Part A we offered a snapshot of the area to help people who are in the market for a house narrow down their search or to make Wimbledon homeowners fall in love with their homes all over again; in Part B we gave you some great tips for decorating your guest room to rent out to next year’s Wimbledon-goers; and to finish up we’ll share some of the great feedback we’ve recently received from homeowners who have had loft conversions or home extensions in South West London.

Some of these projects were finished so recently that that we haven’t even had a chance to photograph their stunning loft conversions or home extensions yet, so keep your eyes peeled for some South West London case studies complete with stunning photographs in the very near future!

Penny from SW19 is really delighted with her new space in Wimbledon because it has “transformed the look and feel of the house, and it is a surprisingly large, lovely, bright and airy space”.

She describes the process as “the most seamless building project I have done” and raves about her project manager Chris, who was “always considerate to my needs as the house owner with all the work going on around me, and the people he chose to work on the project were all polite, considerate and hardworking. I think I was quite picky in my insistence on attention to detail, but he seemed to agree with me that these things were important, and did not complain when I asked him to look at something again.  He had a number of different things to juggle and the weather was awful for much of the time but that did not stop him from managing the project efficiently”.

Ben from SW20 has nothing but good things to say about Landmark and the team that was assigned to work on his home: “They worked fast, or so it seemed, were polite, professional, helpful and kept the house secure and as tidy as they could. We are very pleased the finished work, especially the height of the loft which we think is more than was planned.”

Karen is really enjoying her new space in SW19 and “thought Leonid and his team were excellent – I would have no hesitation in recommending them”.

Marisa describes the team that worked on her SW19 loft conversion as “Very polite, very respectful. Helpful, flexible. Excellent in all respects.”

James loves the approach Landmark took with his SW20 home: “The initial presentation by James wasn’t pressured and answered all our questions. Landmark was responsive. With the other two companies we approached, it was difficult to actually get them around to see us or return calls. It felt like Landmark wanted our business. The key reason we choose Landmark was really the ‘feel’ of the company and that is what we bought into.”

James raves about Lennox: “He ran everything superbly. My wife was on maternity leave at the time, and we thought there would be much more disruption. All workmen were polite and courteous. Small things like giving my wife advanced warning as to when the ceiling would be taken down so she could get out of the house with the baby really added to the overall satisfaction. It seemed that the builders took our situation into account. We felt like we were told what was happening on a daily basis and were always kept in the loop with progress reports. Any small problems were sorted quickly and the guys had no problem with staying a bit late to sort things out.”

Linda from SW20 decided to go ahead with Landmark because “no other company had come up with the same layout. Our head height was very low but Landmark was able to maximise the height with cleverly positioned flooring joists. James and his team were amazing. They were permanently hard working, reliable, good natured and very creative. Nothing was a problem for them and they were always prepared to do more than was expected of them.”

Laura from SW20 also loved the team that worked on her home extension and loft conversion: “Johnny and his team were professional, trustworthy, delivered excellent quality of work, were honest in providing their opinion and were an absolutely fabulous team to work with. The administration team were courteous and professional at all times.”
